Armando Roa Vial

Poet, essayist, anthologist, narrator and translator. His complete poetic work 1998-2008, in definitive version, has been collected in the book Ejercicios de FiliaciĆ³n (2010, Editorial Universitaria), to which is added in 2012 Shakesperean Blues (Uqbar editores). He has won the Pablo Neruda Prize, 2002, and the Critics' Prize in Poetry, 2001.As an anthologist he has edited La InvenciĆ³n de Chile, co-authored with Jorge Teillier, (FCE 2011) and Ezra Pound. Homenaje desde Chile, co-authored with Armando Uribe (2010 Editorial Universitaria). In the field of translations, highlights include PoesĆ­a Escogida de Robert Browning (2000-2008, Editorial Universitaria); Cantico del Sol by Ezra Pound (2015, Descontexto Editores); El Cantar del Hierro: Beowulf y otras lecturas anglosajonas (2010, Editorial RIL); El Navegante (2009, Editorial Universitaria); Covers: 36 Poets in the English Language (Uqbar editors) Tarde o Temprano, anthology of Thomas Hardy (2012 Pfeiffer Editores) and Macbeth by William Shakespeare (Editorial Universitaria, 2013). In essays, he is the author of the volume Elogio de la MelancolĆ­a (1998-2008, Beuvedrais Editores) and Otras Orillas (Cuarto Propio Editores, 2014). Finally, as a storyteller, he has to his credit the novel El Mito y la Sombra (Editorial RIL 2010) and the volume of short stories Para no Morir tan Despacio (Editorial RIL, 2015).
